About Me

The Accidental Artist

I never intended to be an artist. At school I was academic not creative although I had a passion for music. Life changes and things happen, and  don't always go to plan, but out of the tough times came a new found love for how I see the world and what makes me happy. I discovered the absolute joy of putting images that were in my head on to canvas. I am a self taught hobbyist, as I have a long way to go before I can truly think of myself as an artist in my head.

Art therapy?

I'm sure there are studies out there that link the benefits of an active mind to a healthy mind, and the use of Art in all its forms to promote relaxation and as a way to let go of stress. I can only speak for myself but nothing beats losing yourself in colours and images in your head to make you forget the irratations of modern life. Putting colour to a blank canvas has got me through some difficult times and really given me the drive to keep going and keep learning.

Helping Others

Helping Others

Along with sharing my work with others, I decided that I could also raise funds from any future sales or projects and so 20% of any sales made will go to a fabulous Non Profit called Alcohol Awareness UK. An online help and advice service for people with alcohol issues or their families. It's a brilliant organisation and I'm proud to volunteer my time to them.

You can find them on Facebook.
